In his presentation Jamie covered “Enhancing Success for the Business Owner through Optimum Lifestyle, Exercise and Nutritional Practice”. Jamie has an MSc in Exercise & Nutrition Science, a BSc in Sports Therapy and is an Internationally Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN).

April Business Network Meeting Notes and Video
April 8, 2013
14 members attended the April Business Network Meeting.
The theme for the meeting was brainstorming ideas for YOUR business.
Small groups of 3 and 4 were set up and each group member had an opportunity to share a little about their business and any challenges they are facing. The other members of the group then gave their feedback and suggestions, then the next member within the group shared. Each member within the group had an opportunity to discuss their business and challenges.
The next meeting will take place on Thursday May 2nd at 7pm in Roscommon Town. More details to be announced.
April Network Meeting – Learn from your Peers

The April Network Meeting will take place on Thursday April 4th in The Abbey Hotel, Roscommon from 7 to 8pm.
The theme for this meeting is brainstorming ideas for YOUR business.
Groups of 4 will be set up and each group member will have the opportunity to share a little about their business and any challenges they are facing. The other 3 members of the group will then give their feedback and suggestions, then the next member within the group will share. Each member within the group will be given an opportunity to discuss their business.

Peter Wrafter delivered an informative presentation about Bank Loan Applications and tips on what to do and what not to do.
Johnny Beirne went through using LinkedIn to join the Network Group and the benefits.

Gerry Duffy – “Tough Selling in Touch Times”
Gerry Duffy delivered an inspirational presentation to a packed house at last Thursday’s Roscommon Business Network.
Over 60 people turned up at Hannon’s Hotel to here professional speaker, author and fitness fanatic tell his mind altering story and how what he has learned can and should be applied in business.
Gerry invited attendees to ask themsleves:
Have you big ambitions in business, personal or career areas for 2013?
ASK YOURSELF WHY YOU WANT IT.
(If your WHY is big enough, you will move mountains to get there)
Find a burning reason to succeed.
3 FURTHER TIPS
1. THINK consciously about what you want. Ideally it should be something that stirs passion within you.
2. WRITE it down. (So important)
3. Take IMMEDIATE action. (No matter how small the first steps take them now)

About Gerry
Aged 44, Gerry is a self employed professional motivational speaker, entrepreneur and writer. During his career to date, he has been employed in a wide range of fields including the travel, insurance and property sectors. Gerry’s’ sporting CV is filled accomplishments such as running 32 marathons in 32 days around Ireland as well as completing and winning the inaugural UK DECA Enduroman Ironman distance challenge in 2011.This ten day sporting challenge has been dubbed ‘The toughest 10 day Endurance Challenge in the World’.
Back in 1995 Gerry dropped over 4 stone in weight as he recognised that he had a significant weight problem. This resulted in him taking up running at the age of 27. His sporting CV is filled with accomplishments that many would deem impossible. He firmly believes that human beings can do far more than we give ourselves credit for and is keen to lead by example.
Gerry has been invited to address the workforces and clients of companies such as Facebook, Google, AXA, United Drug, Standard Life and Coca Cola. His first book, WHO DARES, RUNS went into the Top 4 list of Best Selling Books in Ireland within 6 weeks of its release in 2011 and was nominated for the WILLIAM HILL Sports Book of the year.
His list of notable accomplishments to date include:
- Three Ironman Distance Triathlons (2.4 Mile Swim, 112 Mile Cycle, 26.2 mile run)
- One DOUBLE Ironman Distance Triathlon (4.8 mile swim, 224 mile cycle, 52.4 mile run)
- In the summer of 2010 along with Ken Whitelaw, Gerry ran 32 Marathons in just 32 Days. In the process over €500,000 was raised for Irish charities
- One DECA Enduroman Ironman Distance Triathlon (24 Mile Swim, 1160 mile cycle, 262 mile run) Gerry finished first by over 22 hours.
